Disabled Students Allowances

Service Overview:

People with disabilities are very neglected in our society. The government has taken various programs to improve the living standards of the disabled. To avail this facility you need to apply by filling the prescribed form. Indigent people with disabilities get benefits through this government service.

Advantages of the service:

1. People with disabilities get financial benefits

2. They do not have to depend on others

3. Can live comfortably through allowance benefits

Process:

In order to get the indigent disability allowance, a disabled person registered by the Department of Social Services with an average annual income of maximum Rs. The Union Committee will verify the application and send the preliminary list to the Upazila Committee for final approval. The Upazila or Municipality or Metropolitan Committee will finalize the list and issue allowance books in the name of the beneficiaries through the Upazila Social Service Officer with the approval of the Member of Parliament. Then the beneficiary opened a bank account in his own name for 10 rupees. The allowance money was transferred from the joint bank account of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and the Social Service Officer to the beneficiary's bank. Beneficiaries will withdraw the allowance from their bank account.

Qualifications

Persons with disabilities of all types above 6 years of age who do not receive old age allowance or any other allowance from the government; Persons with disabilities who have an annual per capita family income of less than Rs. 36,000 / - (thirty six thousand) who are not employed or pensioners

Necessary documents

1. Application in the prescribed form

2. Certificate by UP Chairman or Member

3. Passport size photo

4. Attested copy of National Identity Card (by UP Chairman)

5. Certificate of Disability by Civil Surgeon or Upazila Health and Family Planning

Necessary costs

The services provided are free but the selected beneficiaries have to open a bank account in their own name in the designated bank for withdrawal of Rs.
